Band of Horses and Dinosaur Jr. brought two generations of indie and alternative rock to the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston on Friday, July 10, 2026. Fans of all ages filled the historic theater for an evening of loud guitars, sweeping melodies and beautiful stage lighting.

Located in the heart of Kingston, UPAC provided an intimate setting for the co-headlining show. The ornate theater and warm ambiance complemented a city that has become one of the Hudson Valley’s most attractive destinations for live music and the arts.

Dinosaur Jr. opened with its signature wall of distortion, led by J Mascis’s unmistakable guitar work. The band performed its 1993 album Where You Been, bringing longtime favorites like “Out There” and “Start Choppin’” to the Kingston crowd.

Band of Horses followed with Everything All the Time in celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary. Songs including “The Funeral” and “The Great Salt Lake” showcased the band’s emotional vocals and spacious indie-rock sound.
