Five-time GRAMMY-winning producer and recording engineer Ann Mincieli will receive an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee NYC June 27. The annual commencement ceremony will take place in the Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center in Manhattan. Berklee will recognize the Staten Island native for her contributions to music and her advocacy for women in the industry.

Mincieli’s fingerprints are all over some of the biggest pop, R&B and hip-hop records of the past two decades. She built much of that legacy through her longtime creative partnership with Alicia Keys, along with work for Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Drake and Jennifer Hudson.
Mincieli also founded Jungle City Studios, a Manhattan recording facility that has become a popular space for global artists. She oversees studio operations for Sony Music in New York and Los Angeles and advises on global studio strategy.

Beyond the booth, Mincieli has used her platform to advocate for women in music. Alongside Alicia Keys, Jody Gerson and Sam Kirby Yoh, she helped co-found She Is The Music. The nonprofit organization supports women across the music industry and has hosted more than 30 all-female songwriting camps worldwide.
Mincieli called the recognition a “tremendous honor” and said she was “deeply humbled” to be recognized by an institution dedicated to shaping the next generation of creators. She joins Berklee’s 2026 honorary doctorate class, which also includes Jacob Collier, Jill Scott and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta.
