New York-based artist ROREY has dropped her latest single, “Sudden Death.” The song is the third single to be released from her upcoming album, Temporary Tragedy. A music video accompanies the emotional rollercoaster of the track, one that sticks with the listener on a deeply personal level.
ROREY describes her music as “sad girl indie pop,” and it shows through her raw and emotional lyrics. Her two previous singles, “Temporary Tragedy” and “Dying Fire” both speak to love and the challenges that come with it. The dreamy pop combined with her lyrics and vocals produce a devastating sound that is hard to forget.

Since her debut in 2021, ROREY has quickly caught the attention of the masses. From music critics to making Spotify indie playlists, she is quickly becoming one of the newer names on the indie pop scene.
In her latest single, ROREY takes a bit of an indie rock approach with pop influence. The track is calm and floaty, with her vocals carrying every weight of the emotion in her lyrics. It sounds bittersweet, in a state of acceptance, but still having lingering sadness about what she lost.
“‘Sudden Death’ admits defeat before the game ever begins because I already knew I lost to my feelings for this person,” ROREY explains about the new single. “It’s also an innuendo for intense desire that goes far beyond yearning into borderline obsessive memories that held me hostage in the past I projected onto the present.”

The music video sees ROREY roaming throughout the city, bumping into other couples that remind her of her own situation. She’s living vicariously through them, specific memories and emotions coming up as she watches them. It ends with a voicemail seemingly directed towards her romantic partner that she has been missing.
