For its 8th annual event, the Eddies Awards in Schenectady spotlighted the talented artists, music professionals, and organizations that have been vital to shaping the music of the Capital Region. This year, the event included more than 190 finalists from over 30 diverse categories.

Nominees were elected through public nomination, allowing fans to support the stars and individuals they adore. Final nominees and award recipients were then elected by a panel of judges.
Chris Wienk at WEXT highlighted, “The local 518 music scene continually amazes me. There’s so much talent. And new music keeps upping the game. The Eddies is a great way to celebrate the musical achievements WEXT showcases throughout the year.”
In addition, this year, multiple outstanding individuals were elected into the Eddies Hall of Fame. This included Ernie Williams, The Heavenly Echoes Band, Jim Furlong, Dominick Campana, Eddie Angel, Lee Shaw, and the visionaries of The Van Dyck.
Winners of an Eddies Award in electronic and rock music include Architrave, winner of Electronic Artist of the Year, Millington, winner of Punk/Hardcore Artist of the Year, Gozer, winner of Metal/Hardrock artist of the Year, The Jagaloons, Rock Artist of the Year.

In addition, winners of artists in folk, country, and blues include Caroyln Shapiro, winner of Folk/Traditional Artist of the Year, The Bluebillies, winner of Country/Bluegrass Artist of the Year, and The Hammerhead Horns, winner of Blues Artist of the Year.
