On Saturday, April 25th, Golden Oldies Spectacular will come to Proctors Theatre to present six legendary acts who were extremely influential in the American pop and Rock world. The event will include countless hit songs, remembering the iconic foundation of American Pop and Rock in the 1960s.

Performers include The Duprees, Jay Siegel’s Tokens, Brian Hyland, and La La Brooks, with The Brooklyn Bridge headlining the event.
Jimmy Beaumont’s Skyliners, a group formed in the late 1950s in Pittsburgh, will open the show. The group is known for their hits, including “Since I Don’t Have You,” “This I Swear,” and “Pennies from Heaven.” Donna Groom, a vocalist, will lead the group on stage in honor of Jimmy Beaumont.
The Brooklyn Bridge, headlining the show, was formed with Johnny Maestro, the Crests’ lead singer, the Del-Satins, backup singers from Dion, and the horn players from the Rhythm Method. Brooklyn Bridge hits include “The Worst Than Could Happen,” “Welcome Me Love,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The group is a favorite of Proctors’ audiences, creating great excitement when the group announced their return as headliners.
The Duprees are known for their romantic interpretations of love songs with smooth and powerful vocals and harmonies. They are known for hits including “My Own True Love,” “Why Don’t You Believe Me,” and “Have You Heard.”

Jay Siegel’s Tokens are known for their hits “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Portrait of My Love.” They first started in Brooklyn as the Linc-Tones at Abraham Lincoln High School and later evolved into The Tokens in the 1960s.
Brian Hyland, a former teen idol star born in NYC, will also perform. Brian has collaborated with Brill Building songwriting partners Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance in the past on “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” which sold 2 million copies. He is known for hits including “Ginny Come Lately,” “The Joke went Wild,” and “Warmed over Kisses.”
La La Brooks is known for her career as a singer and actress. She was a part of her family gospel group, Little Gospel Tears, when she was just seven years old. She is known for her acting on Broadway in “Two Gentlemen of Verona,” and in films such as “Cotton Comes to Harlem.”

The Golden Oldies Spectacular will successfully remind its audience of American Pop and Rock in the 1960s. The event will begin at 7:00pm on Friday, April 25th. More information and tickets can be found on the Proctors website.
