Billy Sheehan Discusses New Band, New Music and The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Legendary bassist Billy Sheehan’s newest effort is with the supergroup, The Fell. The band features Sheehan, multi-platinum producer Mike (K.) Krompass, Australian vocal powerhouse Toby Rand and drummer Nick Chiarore. The band released their debut EP, Killswitch, on Oct. 24, 2025 and a new single, “Footprints,” on Nov. 28, 2025.

Before the debut of The Fell, Sheehan played in bands with David Lee Roth and Steve Vai. Additionally, one of Sheehan’s longest tenures was in Mr. Big, which retired from touring on Feb. 25, 2025, in Japan. In addition to Mr. Big, Sheehan is in multiple groups, including the Winery Dogs and Sons of Apollo.

Now, the band is slated for seven shows starting in New York state on March 22, 2026, at Sharkey’s Event Center. Following that date, the band will be back in New York on March 25 at the Evening Star Concert Hall in Niagara Falls. The group will then wrap up their tour in Harrison, Ohio, on March 29.

Prior to the band’s live debut in Liverpool, Sheehan spoke with NYS Music’s Michael Singer to discuss his new band, new music and a lot of Jimi Hendrix.
