Listen Up Awards Announces Lineup and Featured Artists

The Listen Up Awards, presented by RadioRadioX, Xperience Monthly, Mirth Films and Raven Events, announced their five-year anniversary, celebrating talented local artists in the Capital Region. The event takes place at Cohoes Music Hall on February 21 and 22 and includes the award show as well as performances from previous years’ winners and other artists.

Listen Up Awards is a People’s Choice Music Award Ceremony, where artists are celebrated for being the favorite artist. The event aims to highlight the “favorite” artists rather than the “best,” as each musician, a part of the event, is celebrated and appreciated for their unique talent; no single artist is the “best.”

In addition, winners of a previous Listen Up Award cannot be nominated again in the same category, keeping the event and awards fresh and entertaining.

This year’s Hero Class includes Tess Collins, Daley Brothers Band, Stigmata, Section 8, Deb Cavanaugh, Joe Mele, Eddie Angel, The Deadbeats, Kevin McKrell, Jim Furlong, Vito Ciccarelli, George Guarino, Peter Iselin, DJ Young Wise, Blotto, Scotty Mac, Ernie Williams & The Wildcats, Alex Torres, 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Tom Flynn, Matt Hatfield & Tom Murphy (Parkway Music).

The event spans two days. The first, “Hero Day” (February 21st), is dedicated to honoring the Capital Region music scene’s heroes. The day will feature special performances by Kakos, Kristian Montgomery, Off the Record & The Albany Rock Pit Showcase Band.

The second day, February 22nd, is the Award Ceremony. This day will additionally feature special performances by Ginger Geezus, Chris Sanders & The Better Days, Brother T & The Boys, and Luke McNamee.

On both days, doors open at 2pm and the event begins at 3pm at the Cohoes Music Hall. Tickets for the event start at $25 and can be found on THECHOESMUSICHALL.ORG.
