“This EP marks our first wave of new material since our debut album,” the band said in a statement. “Sorry! encapsulates who we are now — our growth, our camaraderie and our passion for creating music that’s raw, honest and a little unexpected.”

Sorry! is Propter Hawk’s first EP following their debut self-titled album released in 2023 with tracks like “Clean Old-Fashioned Hate” and “Theatre of the Whole World.”

The EP ranges from hard rock ‘n’ roll to soulful ballads all with 70s influences of echoey and almost bubbly guitar as well as gritty vocals reminiscent of Janis Joplin.

Each song of the track was written by a different member of the band, creating four distinct feelings within their unique modern rock ‘n’ roll sound. The four tracks were recorded at Pineship Sound in Toronto and produced by Carlin Nicholson of Zeus, the four tracks create a blend of rock nostalgia and indie grit.

Propter Hawk started their journey as a five-piece band in Scarborough right outside of Toronto bringing rock ‘n’ roll into the modern age. Fronted by vocalist Malorie Jo Blake, the band uses vintage gear, employs live three piece horn section and records to tape for a full analog feel. Joined by Blake is Alec McEachern (lead guitar), Andrew Blake (rhythm guitar), Brian Derro (bass, backup vocals),and Jimmy Ruddock (drums, backup vocals).
