Rocking Out On Pier 17: The Charm & Decadence Tour Feat. Drive-By Truckers, Deer Tick, Thelma and the Sleeze

After more than 20 shows, the “Charm & Decadence Tour” came to New York City at Pier 17 on Friday, July 25. The night started with Thelma and the Sleeze, with Deer Tick as the middle ground and ending the night with the Drive-By Truckers.

The iconic Brooklyn Bridge in the skyline created an incredible backdrop. Fans felt the buzz, and it was a great night for rock.

Starting the Show: Thelma and the Sleeze

Thelma and the Sleeze started the night. Their classic garage rock filled the open-air space with music. This Nashville trio brought explosive energy, representative of their home state and its spices. They ignited the stage with fervor and excitement for what was to come. Lauren “LG” Gilbert leads the band along with drummer Jacki Macri and Emily “Baby Angel” Zimmer. Together, they embody the rock and roll mindset. Their untamed sound, developed by years of practice and performances, instantly grabbed everyone. Unleashing a powerful opening, every moment was extremely engaging for the audience.

While the show occurred on July 25, 2025, the official setlist for Thelma and the Sleeze remains a mystery. Still, their shows are often known to pack punches. They always perform with fiery intensity. Commonly, they blast “Ain’t Ur Baby,” “Down,” and “High Class Woman.” These tracks showcase their gritty sound. Deer Tick Takes the Stage

Following Thelma and the Sleeze’s start, Deer Tick takes the stage. Their performance struck a chord with a unique fan base. Successfully mixing alternative rock, folk, and country. This mix created a dynamic soundscape. They effortlessly shift gears between musical styles. From rowdy anthems to intimate moments. They successfully showcased their incredible range. Proving that rock and country can be more than just their genres. They were utterly captivating to the audience.

Deer Tick’s setlist at Pier 17 was an incredible rerun of their history. The crowd roared for “If She Could Only See Me Now.” “Forgiving Ties” resonated deeply with the crowds. Fans loved hearing “Wasting Time.” Followed by “Art Isn’t Real (City of Sin)” and “These Old Shoes.” Then came a song to show their range, “Hope Is Big.” “Running From Love” followed after, with “Mary Singletary” right behind it. “Once in a Lifetime” was an electric performance. “Woman to Woman” and “Jumpstarting” continued their momentum. And finally, they ended big with “Play It All Night Long.”

Deer Tick’s live shows have always strengthened their connection to their crowd. The band has formed a true bond with fans. They pour their passion and emotion into each song. The musicians in the band moved as if they were one individual. Multiple vocals soared. Guitars strummed with raw emotion. It profoundly set the tone for the final performance of the evening.

Drive-By Truckers Deliver the Goods

As the headliners, Drive-By Truckers came with the cover of smoke. Unleashing a dominating performance straight from the start and effectively cementing their legacy. Their signature dual-guitar style with touching lyrics captivated. They commanded the entire stage. It was a powerful surge of Southern rock with alternative country and Americana converging. Their music is deeply connected to their fans. 

This “Charm & Decadence Tour” stop featured many hit songs blasting off with “Birthday Boy.” “The Righteous Path” and “Where the Devil Don’t Stay” were classics. Fans cheered for “Tornadoes.” Following closely after were “A Ghost to Most” and “Sink Hole.” “Uncle Frank” and “18 Wheels of Love” rolled through, keeping pace. “Three Dimes Down” followed right after, keeping the tempo stable. Before blasting into “Goode’s Field Road” and “Ramon Casiano,” changing their sound to focus more on Americana. “Drag the Lake Charlie” followed the same sound. With “One of These Days” and “Buttholeville,” keeping track. “State Trooper” and “Gravity’s Gone” left the audience hanging for more. They closed with a blazing “Let There Be Rock.” The audience, wanting more, shouted for an encore, and the Drive-By Truckers delivered with “Marry Me” and “Road Cases.”

The “Charm & Decadence Tour” with Drive-By Truckers and Deer Tick was a smash hit. The Pier 17 stop was legendary as the audience gazed towards the Brooklyn Bridge and the skyline. Fans left utterly exhilarated. The bands delivered stellar performances, an unforgettable musical journey.
