Wonderland Forest, a 400-acre concert venue in Otisco, NY, plans to continue with summer shows after a facing complaints from locals. The venue must abide by local mass gathering and noise level laws, according to a state judge ruling made Friday, May 9.

The venue has grown in popularity in the past few years with multiple day festivals and on-site camping. However, Wonderland Forest faces scrutiny by the people of Otisco and LaFayette for noise and safety concerns over the thousands of concert-goers that disturb nearby residents.
With the new ruling, Wonderland Forest has yet to apply for permits required for mass gatherings of over 250 people. For Wonderland Forest, events can reach up to 5,000 people. Despite this, the venue plans to continue as schedules with the events, the first show in under three weeks.
Dogs in a Pile are set to play at Wonderland Forest on May 23. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will play on May 31.
In the past year, other venues like Forest Hills Stadium in New York City faced similar challenges with nearby residents. In 2024, the venue brought in over 450 complaints in the past year according to NYC service requests. Forest Hills still plans to stay open for its economic benefits to the community.
Similarly, Wonderland brings benefits to Central New York. Since their opening in 2023, Wonderland Forest has opened up the local festival scene, bringing a Woodstock feel to CNY.
Music venues like Wonderland Forest give towns like Otisco opportunities for great economic development. Not only is the venue able to provide a space for nearby vendors and artist to sell their products, but generate immense revenue with tourism.
