Little Feat Are Back With A New Lineup and New Album “Strike Up The Band”

Rock legends Little Feat are back with their 17th studio album, Strike Up The Band. The new album features a reinvigorated Little Feat line up and collaborations with the Grateful Dead’s Robert Hunter, Molly Tuttle, Larkin Poe and Nashville record producer Vance Powell.

Strike Up The Band little feat

Original Little Feat members Bill Payne, Sam Clayton, Fred Tackett, Kenny Gradney are joined by new members Scott Sharrard on lead vocals and Tony Leone on drums for Strike Up The Band.  This new lineup will also hit the road in 2025 with a stop at The State Theater in Ithaca Saturday May 10.

The sound of Strike Up The Band is unmistakably Little Feat. From the opening guitar riff and horn lines of the first track “4 Days of Heaven/3 Days of Work” to the tenderness of the title track, “Strike Up The Band” is classic Little Feat. The songs on Strike Up The Band would fit right in with any of Little Feat’s previous 16 studio albums.

Scott Sharrard does a terrific job on lead vocals and lead guitar throughout the entire album. Scott grew up as a fan of Little Feat and it sounds as though the essence of Little Feat is ingrained in him. In a bittersweet moment of Rock n Roll irony, Scott’s first live performance with Little Feat was the night former guitarist Paul Berrare passed away from complications of liver cancer.

For over 50 years, through heartache, loss, periods of hiatus and line up changes, the members of Little Feat have remained the closest of friends, and a collaborative creative force. “Strike Up The Band” has the band in fine form and sounding fresh and reinvigorated. The new songs will be great additions to classic Little Feat hits like “Willin”, “Dixie Chicken”, and “Spanish Moon”.

Catch them in Ithaca at The State Theater on Saturday May 10. Get tickets here

Strike Up The Band is currently available for pre-order at the band’s website and will be officially released Friday May 9.
