Acclaimed guitarist Stephane Wrembel returns to New York City for a night celebrating the legacy of Django Reinhardt with “Django á Gogo” at Symphony Space on May 9.

The marquee event of Wrembel week-long Django á Gogo Festival, the concert will feature two unique sets: one honoring Reinhardt’s distinctive guitar style, and another blending New Orleans jazz with the signature swing of “Gypsy jazz.” The first set features a world-class lineup including Dutch guitarist Mozes Rosenberg, French guitarists Antoine Boyer, David Gastine, and Simba Baumgartner (Reinhardt’s great-grandson), harmonica player Yeore Kim, bassist Ari Folman-Cohen, and drummer Nick Anderson.

The second set, titled “Django New Orleans,” brings together a genre-blending ensemble with violinist Adrien Chevalier, trumpeter Joe Boga, tuba player Steven Duffy, saxophonist Nick Driscoll, vocalist Sarah King, and more. The concert culminates in a full ensemble performance of the Reinhardt classic, “Les Yeux Noirs (Dark Eyes).” Advance copies of Wrembel’s upcoming album, Django New Orleans II: Hors Série, will be available at the venue.

Now in its third decade, the Django á Gogo Festival continues to honor the rich tradition of Sinti-style guitar while expanding its reach through reinterpretation and cross-cultural collaboration. As both performer and educator, Wrembel has become one of the leading voices in Reinhardt’s lineage, with over 20 albums to his credit and compositions featured in films like Midnight in Paris. This one-night-only performance offers New York audiences a rare opportunity to witness the vibrant, evolving legacy of one of jazz’s most iconic figures.

For fans of jazz, guitar mastery, and cultural fusion, Django á Gogo at Symphony Space offers an unforgettable evening of music that bridges continents and generations.
