Pry Announce Debut Album “Wrapped In Plastic”

NYC-based duo Pry have announced their debut album, Wrapped In Plastic, coming out on May 29. They will celebrate the release of their debut album with a special show featuring fellow NYC-based bands Cal Fish and Crate at Nightclub 101 on May 31.

Wrapped in Plastic follows the release of their single, “Tether You,” a shoegaze-infused power rock track, and their most recent song, “Heaven.” Heaven is an ethereal song mixed with booming percussion and soft harmonies as they sing “Feels like heaven to me”.

The lyrics are reflective of living in a routine that feels like it necessitates yet simultaneously limits your access to ‘escape’ in any meaningful way. So we take what we can get.

Pry – Amara Bush and Simeon Beardsley – were introduced by a friend in 2023, and they began making music together shortly after. Bush learned how to play the bass and the guitar during the pandemic and started writing songs she was eager to play. Beardsley had been in DIY bands in New Mexico for over 15 years and was looking to start a project based in New York. They started playing demos for each other, and it wasn’t long until they formed a full band and started playing live sets. Since then, they have established themselves as a vibrant band in the Brooklyn music scene. Their upcoming project Wrapped In Plastic, is a mix of 90s alternative rock, shoegaze, modern indie, and pop.
