The news was announced by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards on Tuesday, exclaiming that “the show goes on!” with WNYC’s Gothamist. In a statement by Mayor Eric Adams’ spokesperson Kayla Mamelak Altus, the NYPD will allow concerts throughout the summer if the stadium “meets certain conditions, such as compliance with city noise code and adequate security measures.”

The community discourse began as New York residents represented by Forest Hills Garden Corporation began to file complaints against the stadium for its lack of compliance with set noise regulations by the state, noting that physical damage to their properties were done because of an excess volume of noise. After FHGC denied the NYPD access to private roads surrounding the stadium that allowed for proper regulation and security clearances, the NYPD stated that Forest Hills Stadium would not be able to host their summer season unless they agreed to comply with state regulations.

The results come “as anticipated,” Forest Hills Stadium said on social media. “Each year, our team works closely with the local community and elected officials to bring world-class performances at one of the most iconic music venues in the country. We’re excited to welcome fans back this summer and proud to continue our role as a cultural cornerstone of the Queens community.”

The concert venue will begin its 2025 season programming with Bloc Party on Saturday, May 31. Other notable performers throughout the season include Dr. Dog, Phish, Mumford & Sons, Leon Bridges and Charley Crockett, Tyler Childers and more.
