The Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced its 54th Summer Season, running June 4th through August 15th at the Little York Pavillion in Preble.

“Hello Dolly!” kicks off the season with shows from June 4th through the 13th. This Broadway classic is full of heart, humor, and energetic dance numbers, telling the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a spirited matchmaker who decides to find love for herself in the form of wealthy Horace Vandergelder. The show will be directed by Bill Kincaid, choreographed by Donald J. Laney, with musical direction by Nicholas Guerrero, the team behind The Cortland Repertory Theatre’s acclaimed My Fair Lady last summer.

Neil Simon’s comedy classic, “The Odd Couple,” will be shown from June 18th through the 27th. Directed by Tanner Efinger, the play follows slobby sportswriter Oscar Madison and neurotic neat-freak Felix Ungar as they attempt to cohabitate with hilarious results.

From July 2nd through the 11th, CRT travels back in time to the 1980s with “The Wedding Singer,” making its debut at CRT. Based on the iconic film, the story follows professional wedding singer and rock star wannabe Robbie Hart, who is the life of the party until his fiancée leaves him at the altar. Can a sweet waitress named Julia help him believe in love again? The musical is directed and choreographed by frequent CRT choreographer Bryan Knowlton, with Elizabeth McGuire as Associate Choreographer and Mark Ceppetelli in his CRT debut as Music Director.

Running July 16th through the 25th is “Murder For Two,” a musical whodunit making its CRT debut. Directed by Melanie Keller and with music directed by Nicholas Guerrero, this show features only two actors: one playing the detective and the other playing all the suspects, who also accompany themselves on piano.

Closing the season from July 30th to August 15th is CRT’s debut of the Disney classic, “The Little Mermaid.” This well-known and enchanting tale follows Ariel, a mermaid longing to live on land. When she trades her voice for legs to pursue Prince Eric, she finds herself in a race against time to reclaim her future. This family favorite is directed and choreographed by Barbara Hartwig, with Canaan Harris as Music Director.
