The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its 70th anniversary season, beginning in September 2025 through May 2026.

The BPO features three different series’ – the M&T Bank Symphonic Series, the Visions Federal Credit Union Pops Series and the Garufi Law P.C. Phelps Mansion Museum Series. Within these three series’ will feature world-class performances by beloved musicians and composers from all around the world.
The M&T Bank Symphonic Series will begin on Sept. 27 with “Heroic Journeys,” featuring Carlos Simon’s “Fate Now Conquers,” Liszt’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” with soloist Tomoko Kanamaru and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 7.” The Orchestra will then perform “Creations of Fire” on November 15, featuring Beethoven’s “The Creatures of Prometheus” ballet, Shostakovich’s “Cello Concerto No. 1” with cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 8.”
The Orchestra will perform “Classic Style” on January 31, 2026, featuring Caroline Shaw’s “Entr’acte,” Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 3” with soloist Hina Khuong-Huu and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 4.” The series will conclude on March 28 with “Ode to Joy,” featuring Beethoven’s famous “Symphony No. 9” with Curtis Institute of Music soloists and the combined choirs of the Southern Tier Singers’ Collective, the Binghamton University Chamber Singers and members of the Syracuse University Oratorio Society.

The Visions Federal Credit Union Pops Series will begin on October 25 with “Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein,” including a live screening of the famous 1931 film with the score played by the orchestra. The series will continue on December 6 with “Winter Wonderland,” featuring holiday favorite songs from It’s A Wonderful Life and a live screening of the British short film, “The Snowman.”
On February 28, the orchestra will host “Canons and Cannons: Pops at the Forum,” celebrating notable pieces from Victory at Sea, The Wizard of Oz, Finlandia, The 1812 Overture and a premier of “Caprice” by Native American composer Boyd Eagle. The series will conclude with “One Vision – The Music of Queen,” a tribute to Queen singer Freddie Mercury and the iconic band, featuring the vocalist of Jeans n’ Classics.
The Garufi Law P.C. Phelps Mansion Museum Series will begin on October 5 with a solo performance by pianist Andrew Russo. The Castalia String Quartet will follow on November 23, featuring Philharmonic concertmaster Uli Speth. Clarinetist Paul Cho and pianist Adrienne Kim will perform on January 11, hailed by The New York Times as “stylish.”
The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra 70th season will conclude on April 12 with music ensemble NYS Baroque, making their first appearance with the BPO.
