The Brooklyn Made venue, which has been open for nearly four years, recently announced its closure. A message on its website confirmed the news, stating, “Brooklyn Made is closed, all shows are canceled.” The venue has assured ticket refunds would be processed at the original point of purchase.

Several artists scheduled to perform at Brooklyn Made have acknowledged its abrupt closure. Singer-songwriter Andre Belle informed fans via Instagram that his upcoming shows had been canceled and that ticket refunds would be available. Drive-By Truckers frontman Patterson Hood also addressed the shutdown, stating that his March 19 solo performance at the 500-capacity venue was canceled because “the venue is closing.”

Brooklyn Made owner Anthony Makes, formerly the president of Live Nation’s New York office and a former Bowery Presents executive, ran the venue in partnership with Kelly Winrich of Delta Spirit. In a statement addressing the closure, Makes expressed a sense of relief with the partnership’s conclusion, stating, “I am very pleased that this partnership has ended and I am out of those buildings. I’m confident my 35 years of contributing to the live music speaks for itself. I am looking forward to the next chapter.”
Brooklyn Made’s sudden shutdown reminds us of the instability of the live entertainment industry, especially amid economic and legal challenges.
