New York-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Skinny Atlas has announced his debut EP, Nowhere Kid, out Feb. 28 on Nettwerk.

Nowhere Kid gains inspiration from folk artists like Bon Iver, contrasting Atlas’ signature sounds of lofi and “sad rap.” The seventh track, “Nowhere Kid,” is one of the artist’s most stripped down, authentic and vulnerable pieces to date. The album draws on personal experiences to encourage listeners to create healthy relationships with themselves, separate from their significant others. “Don’t Ever Think Twice,” the sixth track from the album, features Powfu, one of the lofi world’s most recognized artists. In addition to an official music video, the track sings of heartfelt lines that reflect one’s personal diary.
Skinny Atlas, from Goshen, NY, is a self-taught instrumentalist, starting on piano and guitar, becoming one of the artist’s staple sounds in his work. With his past work delving into genres like acoustic, indie, hip-hop, electronic, folk and more, Skinny has created a unique sound to himself. His breakout track, “you never meant it,” sits at over 60 million Spotify streams, and has continuously released other major tracks like “future diary,” “life in a locker” and “Love Pain.”
