Nyack-native rock band Coheed and Cambria have announced a co-headline North American summer tour with rock band Taking Back Sunday, including two performances in New York at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse, in addition to three international performances. The tour is scheduled to start in March and run through November.

The co-headline tour will include Coheed and Cambria’s new single, “Someone Who Can,” from the upcoming album The Father of Make Believe, set to release on March 14. Lead guitarist Claudio Sanchez, who has previously worked with artists like The Cure and Taylor Swift, says that “Someone Who Can” is inspired by comfort and acceptance of the world, saying, “When you’re growing up, you’re perpetually trying to understand the world that’s changing around you. Over time, it’s comforting to reach the conclusion that you’ll never truly have things figured out.”

“Someone Who Can” is one of many singles from The Father of Make Believe, including other singles such as “Blind Side Sonny” and “Searching For Tomorrow.” “Someone Who Can” will also include a music video set in Nyack, where Coheed and Cambria originates from.

Before beginning the North American tour, Coheed and Cambria will co-headline The Infinite Arc arena tour with Mastodon. The band will also perform at the Tool in the Sand festival in the Dominican Republic from March 7 to 9, 2000 Trees festival in the United Kingdom on July 11 and on the S.S. Neverender Coheed Cruise from Miami and Cozumel from Nov. 8 to 13.

The tour makes it’s way through Upstate New York in late May, stopping at SPAC on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day), then heading west to Syracuse for a show at Lakeview Amphitheater on Friday, May 30.

Tickets for the North American co-headline tour and all international performances will be on sale on Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. For more information, visit here
