This track mastered the art of controlled chaos with vigorous percussion and fizzy guitar chords that seamlessly fit together to symbolize the bustling nature of life. The instruments created not only a sense of musicality but theatricality. The band described their sound as “bunga boogie” and “jungle jams,” making their own distinctive genre of music.

Every measure brought new surprises, with each instrument interweaving while also having its own time to shine. The “mutant Bo Diddley beats” promised by Harmonica Lewinski were abundant and added to the innovative nature of the song. The rhythms and dynamic arrangements showcased the band’s commitment to pushing musical boundaries.

Harmonica Lewinski’s “Rat Race” arrived in perfect timing with their other recent endeavors. The band released a murder mystery sketch set to their song, “New Magic” for the comedy channel Cigarette Butts, further showcasing their flair for theatrics and performance. They also shared a party style set of “Penny Saver Blues/Smoke Signals” from their Super Hot record release show. This performance captured the raw energy that exuded from the band, and gave fans a taste of their electric stage presence.

Describing the track as a “freshly squeezed slice of pineapple upside down music,” this release from Harmonica Lewinski was a promise to keep pushing musical boundaries. By blending rock, grunge, and funk components, the band crafted something new and positively weird. “Rat Race” served as a testament to the thriving experimental music scene, and proved that exciting pieces of music come from artists willing to break away from traditional genre constraints.

“Rat Race” is available now on all major streaming platforms and more information can be found on their website here.
