Ithaca’s Cayuga Chamber Orchestra Announces Two Performances for January 2025

The Ithaca-based Cayuga Chamber Orchestra (CCO) has announced their Mozart and Shaw Chamber Music Series and the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra’s Youth Orchestra (CCOYO) annual Spring concert, featuring CCOYO concerto competition winner harpist Jocelyn Hsu and the Ithaca High School Choir.

The CCO’s Mozart and Shaw concert will be held at the First Unitarian Society of Ithaca on Jan. 26, 2025 at 3 p.m. The performance will include string and wind quartet and sextet pieces from Mozart, Shaw, Purcell and Janáček.

The CCOYO’s spring concert will be held at Ithaca College’s Ford Hall on Jan. 11, 2025 at 4 p.m. The performance will include works from Still, Debussy, Mozart, Verdi, and Smetana, under the direction of conductor Kirsten Marshall. Admission to the concert is free.

Founded in 1976, the CCO is known as “Ithaca’s Orchestra.” The orchestra season includes other performances, such as holiday and family concerts. The CCO proudly operates the 2015 Yale Distinguished Music Educator award-winning Willard Daetsch Youth Outreach Program, providing classical music experiences and education for young students.

The CCO’s Orchestral Series continues with Flight of Fancy on Feb. 22, 2025. The Chamber Series continues with Fauré and Britten on April 6, 2025.
