New Paltz’s punk duo, Top Nachos, take off in February for a month-long national tour. Before they cross the state border, they’ve got a few local-ish shows. They’re on the bill for Benefit for the Migrant Caravan at Sunnyvale in Brooklyn on Saturday, January 26. Following that, there’s a house show on February 1 in Albany (ask a punk), and a show at BSP Lounge in Kingston on February 2.
Last fall, Top Nachos released their latest album, Dank Side of the Moon; a collection chock-full of fun songs with titles like “Vegan Donuts” and “Frens.” The collection is like a bunch of memes in song form, but with an undercurrent of truth about life, from a youth perspective. For example in the song “Canada,” family members are emigrating for political reasons.
