Skidmore College will host Ensemble Connect, a group of professional classical musicians from Carnegie Hall, the Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute, for a fall residency later this month. This residency program will include a public concert on Friday, Oct. 23, during which Ensemble Connect will perform works by notable composers such as György Ligeti, Charles Martin Loeffler, and Béla Bartók.

Ensemble Connect is a two-year fellowship program during which young professional musicians have the opportunity to work with classical music in many forms. In addition to cultivating musical excellence among its fellows, the program incorporates teaching, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Since 2007, this program has reached more than 54,000 students and audience members.
Skidmore hosts Ensemble Connect for two residencies each year. This year’s fall residency will take place from Oct. 20 to 24. During these five days, this group of outstanding musicians will bring master classes, private lessons, and interactive performances to students and to the larger Saratoga Springs community.
The culminating concert on Oct. 23 will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Skidmore College’s Arthur Zankel Music Center. Tickets are required, but the event is open to the public and free to attend. More information is available at Skidmore’s Zankel Music Center website.
