Rock royalty Wolfgang Van Halen is a Mammoth of a good time live. Fans of all ages pressed close to the barricade at Empire Live late Thursday night to catch a glimpse of the guitar master at his craft. Wolfgang surprised fans with his immaculate singing, guitar solos and piano playing.

The evening opened with alternative rock band Blaze Francisco who not only brought the heat but put on a visually stimulating show with their high energy. All while towing a line between new rock music and the nineties music you know and love. Their set was electric, precise and kept you on the edge of your seat. The perfect opening act for a Mammoth headlining act.

Mammoth’s set on the other hand was a push pull series of music. From extreme solos that tore off the roof to more soft and vulnerable moments. Wolfgang Van Halen may be a man of few words but it left space for more music that the fans know and love.

The band consists of a talented group of musicians from the legendary Wolfgang Van Halen on the vocals, guitars, and keyboards, Ronnie Ficarro (bass, backing vocals), Garrett Whitlock (drums, percussion), Frank Sidoris (guitar, backing vocals), Jonathan Jourdan (guitars, backing vocals).

Combining elements of metal, grunge, alternative, and hard rock, the group delivered an exceptional performance. The setlist embraced newer songs from their latest album, “The End,” while adding favorites. Set List consists of: One of a Kind, Another Celebration at the End of the World, The Spell, Epiphany, Like a Pastime, Same Old Song, Stone, Happy, Mammoth, Distance, I Really Wanna.
