BareRoots will return to Thornden Park in Syracuse on Saturday, Sept. 19, for a free, community-built celebration of the city’s music, art and creative spirit.
Festival organizers will also host a Poster Reveal Party on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Sound Garden. The event will unveil the 2026 festival poster, designed by multidisciplinary artist Jillian Hagadorn, known for her intricately narrative paintings.
Back for a second year, this year’s event will spotlight local musicians performing original songs and reimagined favorites across several genres. Food trucks will serve savory bites and sweet treats throughout the day. Meanwhile, Middle Ages Brewery will pour local craft beer in the festival’s beer garden.
Festivalgoers can leave their mark by helping paint a large-scale collaborative mural. The artwork will take shape throughout the day as attendees add their own touches. They can also browse original artwork, handmade crafts, vintage finds and locally made merchandise in the vendor village.
BareRoots debuted in 2025 and returns with plans to keep Syracuse’s musicians, artists and small businesses at the center of the festival. The all-ages event is free and open to the public. Learn more on the festival’s official website.
