Brooklyn-based artist Late Again has released his new single, “If You Have A Bridge (I’m Buying)” from his upcoming EP. The song takes us on an adventure through New York City from the lens of a Brazilian immigrant.
Late Again (Rafael Melo) was born in Brazil and later moved to New York City to pursue his dream-pop project. He uses the city as a backdrop to his artistry, seamlessly infusing his Brazilian roots.
Most of his artistry focuses on music, where he creates dreamlike melodies and mind-numbing pop sounds. However, Late Again has ventured into the world of writing, filmmaking, and even game design. His creativity knows no bounds, with award-winning films and successful video games.

Melo calls Late Again his “alter ego.” His first musical debut came in 2024 with his first single titled “Flood.” In his short time producing music, he has produced three EPs, his fourth set to release in September 2026.
I Dreamt I Was Awake will be the latest studio installment from Late Again, comprised of six tracks, including “If You Have A Bridge (I’m Buying).” Recording sessions took place in Studio G in Brooklyn and Evil Twin Music in his hometown of São Paulo.
Melo describes the song as “an ode to New York City—a trippy, upbeat, and melodic journey through the eyes of an immigrant who found the closest thing to home there.” Images of people on the streets, the iconic skyline, and the subway present the beauty of the city.
The song starts as if we are entering another dimension, soft vocals allowing us to join this adventure. The lyrics are conflicting, speaking of the American Dream and struggle from the immigrant standpoint. However, he also emphasizes the hope and desire to remain in a place with so much potential.

The music video depicts a bike ride across New York City, with over 100 miles biked to capture the full experience. The video was in collaboration with artist Gabriel Rollinos, who has worked with Tame Impala and Toro y Moi.
After the release of his EP in September, Late Again’s next studio endeavor is the release of his debut album, slated for 2027. For now, he will be touring in New York City, Los Angeles, and Europe.
