The Park Theater Foundation, a non-profit organization, is opening OK! Comedy Underground, a new stand-up comedy series, is coming to Doc’s Bar & Lounge on June 3. The comedy shows will be on the lower floor of The Park Theater in Glens Falls.
Albany-based comedian Twon Wood will host the shows and will feature an alternating lineup of comedians throughout the summer program. Additionally, the shows will take place in a more relaxed cabaret-style space, giving the series a smaller, more intimate vibe.
Doc’s Bar & Lounge will also have snacks, craft cocktails, beer, and wine available for purchase during the shows.
OK! Comedy Underground will initially have bi-weekly shows in June, and then become a weekly Wednesday night series from July 1 through August 19. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with each show beginning at 7:30 pm.
The series will also connect with Glens Falls’ summer nightlife. Starting July 8, the comedy nights will run alongside the city’s Take a Bite events, giving visitors a chance to grab food downtown before heading to Doc’s Bar & Lounge for the show.
Tickets are priced at $20 and can be purchased at parktheatergf.com or at the box office.
