Vance Joy, accompanied by Hazlett, Jonah Kagen, and Kyle Schuesler, delivered an unforgettable finale to Artpark’s season on September 26, performing to a sold-out audience. The atmosphere was electric, making it a truly exceptional night of music.

To begin the evening’s performances, Kyle Schuesler took the stage. He instantly enchanted the audience with his different sound. Kyle, from Season 25 of The Voice, left a strong impression on the coaches with his emotional audition. He has a soothing voice that envelops the emotion in each song, and the lyrics he sings have a way of hitting the listener and leaving a lasting impression. From the audience’s perspective, you could feel the energy in the crowd, as everyone’s anticipation for what he would bring to the night was palpable.

Jonah Kagen was featured next. Jonah opened the night with his first song, until the unforeseen moment when 2 strings broke on his acoustic guitar. In an unshaken nature, Jonah let out a confident smile, switched to his electric guitar, and that’s where he really stole the moment for people in the room. Each strum unleashed deep energy that drew us all into his view of the world of emotion. He shared his EP songs, “The Roads” and “Black Dress,” infused with the strong storytelling of his deep passion.

Rounding out the last of the openers was Hazlett, who captivated the audience from the first moment he stepped on stage. There was something magnetic about his presence that engaged the entire room with a sense of authenticity. Hazlett delivered an emotional performance that had a profound impact on the audience. Every piece of music was soaked with emotion, and it began to weigh down, and you could feel every lyric. The intensity of his performance, combined with the thoughtful, sophisticated ease of his songs, made for a thoughtful, serious, deep performance experience, leaving a lasting impact on everyone in the audience.

With the anticipation growing all night, when Vance Joy came out, the audience was ready. Vance started his set with an acoustic version of his songs ‘ From Afar’ and ‘Winds of Change’. He then brought up the beat with ‘Mess is Mine’ started out sober and just him singing, as the song picked up the pace and led into the chorus, his whole band appeared and joined in. Throughout the whole night, Vance had everyone up on their feet singing every word with him.

In the middle of the set, Vance performed a couple of acoustic songs on the B stage, located toward the back of the amphitheater. Facing the lawn seats, and showed the fans in the back some love. Getting to the B stage, Vance, with his band, walked through the audience. It was a full-circle moment for him. The moment Vance played the intro to the song, the audience erupted with joy and instantly started singing. Vance Joy, Hazlett, Jonah Kagen, and Kyle Schuesler were truly the perfect act to close out Artpark’s season.
