Bareilles is an acclaimed two-time Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter. She is best known for hits such as “Love Song,” “Brave,” and “King of Anything.” Along with her Grammy achievements, she is a three-time Tony nominee. She received praise for composing the music and lyrics to the Broadway musical Waitress. Throughout her career, she has received praise for her contributions to music, theatre, and songwriting.

Along with the headliner announcement came news of a brand-new indoor marquee inside the historic Proctors Arcade. The new indoor marquee serves as a gateway for the theatre, connecting audiences to the stages and performances. The goal of the new marquee was to preserve the theatre’s legacy while also providing a modernized experience for future theatergoers.

The Centennial Celebration is a massive historical event for Proctors. The theatre, originally opened in 1926, has spent 100 years hosting iconic shows and performances. After almost shutting down in the 70s, the community worked tirelessly to save the theatre, revitalizing it and the Schenectady community. The Centennial Celebration will feature special events and experiences throughout the season, celebrating 100 years.

The anniversary celebration is kicking off this week with BOOP! The Musical, opening the 2026-27 KeyBank Broadway Subscription Series. The musical runs from October 13th to October 18th and is the beginning of the massive 100-year celebration. For more information on the Centennial Celebration and its events, you can check out Proctor’s website.
