Tri-Cities Opera is opening its 2026-27 season on October 16th with Hansel and Gretel at the Tri-Cities Opera Center. This performance marks the start of a season focused on resilient women charting their own paths through stories spanning genres and generations.

Sung entirely in English, the production follows two siblings who get lost in an enchanted forest. On their journey to find their way home, they encounter mysterious characters, a dazzling house made of sweets, and a cunning witch. Hansel and Gretel is a show that appeals to longtime fans, families, and people experiencing opera for the first time. Directed by Patrick Hansen alongside Music Director Giovanni Reggioli, the production stars Kanade Motomura as Hansel and Kate Fogg as Gretel.
“Hansel and Gretel is a wonderful way to begin a season that celebrates powerful stories and unforgettable characters”
– John Rozzoni, General Director.
