Proctors Collaborative has announced the 2026-27 season of their annual Passport Series. This six-performance series will bring innovative musicians from all around the world to share their art with audiences in Schenectady and Saratoga Springs.
The season will begin on Sept. 24 with Maruja Limón, an all-female sextet from Barcelona, Spain. They will perform at Schenectady’s GE Theatre at Proctors. Following them, the Naghash Ensemble of Armenia will bring ancient Armenian poetry and traditional instruments such as the duduk to Saratoga Springs’ Universal Presentation Hall.
As the season continues, shows will continue to alternate between these two venues. Gili Yalo and Yacouba Sissoko, in turn, will take the stage at the GE Theatre at Proctors, while La Banda Morisca and Kiran Ahluwalia will each perform at the Universal Presentation Hall.
These internationally acclaimed artists all blend traditional music from different regions with a variety of genres, including flamenco, jazz, pop, blues, and more. Mona Golub, the curator of the Passport Series, explained that these performers “remind us how music carries history, creates connection, and continually reinvents itself.”
