Michiko Studios is hosting Rhythm Residencies, which is a five-night series bringing some of the most renowned percussionists of the jazz scene to Midtown Manhattan from Aug. 19 to Aug. 23.
This program will be taking place at Cathedral Studio at Michiko Studios, which was recently opened. The show provides an intimate concert setting that only accommodates 55 people at once. It will provide solo performance, collective improvisation, and interaction with the audience and guests will have a chance to see famous drummers perform collectively.

Situated adjacent to Bryant Park, the Michiko Studios has always been a rehearsal ground for jazz and classical musicians from New York City. Initially created within the Roberto’s Winds Inc., the family-owned studio has grown into a meeting point not only for professional musicians but also for students.
This event will take place with sponsorship from Good Hands Drum Shop, Zoom North America, Roberto’s Winds, and Canopus Drums from Japan, showing that many organizations work together to help promote the music community of New York City.
Performance Schedule:
Wednesday, Aug. 19: Ari Hoenig & Daniel Prim
Thursday, Aug. 20: Jerome Jennings & DJ OOOchild
Friday, Aug. 21: Francisco Mela & Will Calhoun (hosted by Barry Greenspon)
Saturday, Aug. 22: Dafnis Prieto & Eric Harland
Sunday, Aug. 23: Allison Miller & Billy Martin
