Music on the Mohawk: Summer Concert Series In Montgomery County

In the heart of Montgomery County, NY, the Music on the Mohawk series is striking a chord with music lovers this season. This outdoor concert series, held along the Erie Canal, offers a natural setting with a splash of local talent and community spirit, creating the perfect summer evenings for families and friends. 

This all-ages, free concert series takes place in multiple areas of Montgomery County. Music on the Mohawk invites residents and visitors to experience live performances that range from folk and rock to jazz and blues. The series provides a riverside setting that amplifies the magic of live music with the natural beauty of the Erie Canal.

Organized by Montgomery County, this event aims to showcase local musicians while promoting a sense of togetherness for music lovers and nature lovers alike. This series helps encourage families and friends to gather and enjoy the outdoor environment while supporting local artists. 

The stacked summer lineup features a diverse roster of artists, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the region and beyond. Attendees can expect an intimate atmosphere where the community’s passion for music and nature intertwine, reflecting Montgomery County’s commitment to sustainable events that honor both artistic expression and environmental stewardship.

Music on the Mohawk will kick off with Music in the Park on Thursday, July 2, at Haslett Park in Fort Plain, featuring a series of nine Thursday night concerts with performances from Spike and the Boys, Empty Pockets Band, and Cooperstown Community Band. Alongside Music in the Park will be three other concert series, including ten concerts by the Riverlink Park Summer Concert Series hosted at Riverlake Park, at 2 Front St, Amsterdam, NY starting on July 3, with performances beginning at 7 P.M. with performances from Coconut Telegraph ( Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band), Dead Man’s Waltz (Grateful Dead Tribute Band), and Dark Sarcasm (Pink Floyd Tribute Band).

Music on Mainstreet will host five concerts starting on Tuesday, July 28, and will be held every Tuesday in August at 20 Mohawk Street, Canajoharie, NY, with performances from The Ghost Town Blues Band,  Kara Grainger, and Big Fez. Lastly, the St. Johnsville Summer Concert Series will host nine concerts at 1 Marina Dr., St. Johnsville, NY, on Mondays in July and August, starting at 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
