The 46th Annual Old Songs Festival of Traditional Music and Dance has announced its return to Altamont, NY, for a 3-day festival June 26, 27, and 28. The festival is a family-friendly event celebrating folk, traditional, Celtic, and world music and dance.

Old Songs Festival offers performances on three different main stages as well as an array of exciting activities in a relaxed atmosphere. Activities include interactive sessions where participants interact with nature. There are over 100 daytime workshops featuring crafts and a children’s activities area.
The main stage concerts will offer performances by multiple artists starting at 6:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 3:30 on Sunday.
The Old Songs Festival celebrates Music with Roots! and includes talented performers in genres including Folk, Celtic, Quebecois, Roots, Americana, and music from Scotland, Appalachia, Cape Verde Islands, the Midwest, Canada, and England.

Performers include Holly Near, Garnet Rogers, Guy Davis, Bruce Molsky & Darol Anger, Crys Matthews, Jake Blount Band, Trout Fishing in America, Cantrip, Windborne, Joe Jencks, Christine Lavin, Andrew Wells-Oberegger, Reggie Harris, James Keelaghan, The Vox Hunters, Wild Asparagus, Medusa, Lutchinha, Skye Consort and Emma Björling, Connie Kaldor, Máire Ní Chathasaigh and Chris Newman, Maria Zemantauski, Magpie, Tret Fure, Sally Rogers and Howie Bursen, John Kirk and Trish Miller, Alexandra Deis-Lauby, Cumming·Kuhar·Stickney, Paul Rosenberg, George Wilson, Alan Thomson, Stefan Amidon, Chris Koldewey, Sonny Ochs, Deirdre and Sean Murtha, Cate Clifford, John Dickson, Kathleen Hanley, Ron Gordon, and Jake Thomas.
The weekend will also offer the “Great Groove Band,” which will allow children who play an instrument or sing to participate with instruction from music coaches in preparation for a performance on the main stage on Sunday.

In addition, kids will have the opportunity to interact with Roger the Jester and learn skills with the Dirty Blue Shirts. A face painting area will also be available in the Families’ Activities area with other crafts.
In addition, the festival will offer food and instrument vendors as well as an on-site camping ground available for reservations for the weekend.
The Old Songs Festival offers the opportunity for attendees to participate in and enjoy music. The festival encourages attendees to sing, dance, and jam with performers and bring their own acoustic instruments for jam sessions.
