“Up To Chance” is a groove-driven track drawing from classic funk and disco, built on immersive rhythms, layered vocals and dynamic horn arrangements. The song was recorded with producer Sam Cohen, known for his work with Kevin Morby, Rhett Miller and Curtis Harding.

The accompanying music video was directed by performance artist and filmmaker Alexandra Reisberg and filmed on the streets of New York City. The clip follows Chance, a playful puppet, through a series of whimsical encounters with strangers.

“We really gave it up to Chance and got more than we hoped for,” Reisberg said. “Central to our concept was channeling The Fool tarot card: leaping into the unknown and embracing whatever comes your way.”

Founded in 2019 by West Coast transplants Rex Costello (vocals, guitar) and Oliver Hart (guitar), ISTA began as a Brooklyn studio project before expanding into a full band with Evan Eubanks on drums, Diona West on bass and vocals, Chloe Golding on keys and backing vocals, and Dan Rico on guitar.

The band draws from garage rock, classic funk, disco, electronic and punk, fusing them into what they describe as a riff-charged, groove-infused sound. In Sound To All continues in that direction. Previous single “Waves” was named among the best songs of 2025 by Los Angeles station KCRW, and “Gods In Heat” earned a video premiere from FLOOD.

In Sound To All is available for pre-order at istaband.com.
