Warren Haynes Band Brings ‘Winter of Warren’ Tour to The Capitol Theatre

The Warren Haynes Band brought the Winter of Warren 2026 tour to the Capitol Theatre on March 6. Haynes was joined by Terence Higgins on drums, Kevin Scott on bass, and Matt Slocum on keyboards, with the group moving comfortably between soulful songs, bluesy grooves, and moments of improvisation throughout the night.

The evening opened with “Man in Motion,” setting the tone with the uplifting energy that defines much of Haynes’ solo catalog. Songs like “This Life as We Know It” and “Spots of Time” showcased the band’s ability to balance thoughtful songwriting with extended instrumental interplay, while Gov’t Mule favorite “Banks of the Deep End” added a heavier blues-rock edge to the set.

A soulful take on Allen Toussaint’s “From a Whisper to a Scream” highlighted the band’s versatility, while the Allman Brothers Band instrumental “Instrumental Illness” gave each member space to stretch out. Throughout the night, Higgins and Scott provided a deep rhythmic foundation while Slocum’s keys added rich textures behind Haynes’ expressive guitar work.

The second half of the show featured a pair of The Allman Brothers Band classics, “Soulshine” and “Dreams,” both of which drew strong responses from the Capitol Theatre crowd. The band then leaned into the heavier side of Haynes’ catalog with Gov’t Mule favorites like “Thorazine Shuffle” and “Tear Me Down,” pushing the energy higher and showcasing the power and versatility of the Warren Haynes Band lineup.

Late in the set, the band closed the main portion of the show with the instrumental “Invisible.” The encore featured a powerful cover of U2’s “One,” delivering one of the evening’s most emotional moments to close out the night at the Capitol Theatre.

The Winter of Warren tour wrapped the following night on March 7 at the State Theatre of Ithaca. Haynes will soon return to the road with Gov’t Mule, whose spring tour begins March 27 and currently runs through May, continuing a busy year of touring for the guitarist and bandleader.
