Hangar on the Hudson will once again host The Spring Thing on May 2, bringing together eight Capital Region acts to celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of the outdoor concert season.
Since opening in 2015, Hangar on the Hudson has become a cornerstone of Troy’s local music scene, regularly hosting touring and regional artists across a wide range of genres. The Capital Region maintains a tight-knit music community, with artists often performing together and supporting one another across local venues. The event serves as a reflection of that collaborative culture, uniting multiple local acts in one showcase. To connect with the music of the local region is to connect with the community itself.
The lineup includes Rover, Mud Wasp featuring Dylan Perillo, Stella & the Reptilians, Take Steps, Zan & the Winter Folk, Geoff Gordon featuring Troy Pohl, Kimono Dragons and Brick Windows.
Doors open at 3:00 p.m., with music beginning at 4:00 p.m. and running until 10:00 p.m., in accordance with the outdoor curfew at 9:00 p.m. Performances will alternate between Hangar on the Hudson’s indoor stage and an outdoor stage located in the venue’s back parking lot.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. Online ticket sales end at 10:00 a.m. on May 2, after which tickets will be available at the door (cash only). The event is rain or shine.
