Tedeschi Trucks Band have announced their sixth studio album, Future Soul, due out March 20 via Fantasy Records, and released the first single, “I Got You.”
The new record will arrive in the middle of the band’s annual Beacon Theatre residency in New York City, where they’ll play 10 shows from March 10–28 — several of which are already sold out.

Led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, the GRAMMY Award–winning band continues to balance scale and intimacy better than just about anyone on the road right now. Future Soul is an 11-track collection that follows 2022’s ambitious four-part album I Am The Moon and their 2025 live release Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited, and it finds the 12-piece ensemble leaning into feel, groove, and collaboration.
The album’s first single, “I Got You,” written by guitarist and vocalist Mike Mattison, is a clear example of that approach. The song moves at a steady, mid-tempo pace, driven by a locked-in rhythm section and a relaxed sense of confidence. It takes cues from the classic roots-rock and soul tradition associated with Derek and the Dominos and Delaney & Bonnie, but it doesn’t feel like a throwback. Instead, it sounds like a band comfortable enough to simplify.
Susan Tedeschi’s vocal performance is calm and assured, delivering the song’s reassuring message without overselling it. Background vocals from Mark Rivers and Alecia Chakour add warmth and depth, especially in the chorus, while Derek Trucks’ slide guitar appears in measured, melodic accents rather than extended solos. Horns and keys fill out the arrangement subtly, giving the track a soulful edge without crowding the mix.
“It’s a breath of fresh air and pretty different for us,” Trucks said of the song. “It feels like the band, but it doesn’t feel like anything we’ve done before.”
Future Soul was produced by Mike Elizondo (known for his work with Twenty One Pilots, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Carrie Underwood) and co-produced by Trucks. Recording took place at the band’s own Swamp Raga Recording studio in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as Phantom Studios in Gallatin, Tennessee. Songwriting duties were shared primarily among Trucks, Tedeschi, Mattison, Gabe Dixon, and drummer Tyler Greenwell, with the music pulling from a wide range of influences including funk, rock ’n’ roll, blues, soul, and punk.
The full lineup on Future Soul features Susan Tedeschi (guitar, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitar), Mike Mattison (guitar, vocals), Gabe Dixon (keys, vocals), Brandon Boone (bass), Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell (drums, percussion), Isaac Eady (drums, percussion), Mark Rivers (vocals), Alecia Chakour (vocals), Kebbi Williams (saxophone), Emmanuel Echem (trumpet), and Elizabeth Lea (trombone).

Select dates will feature special guests Sheryl Crow, Lukas Nelson, JJ Grey & Mofro, and Molly Tuttle, and the band will also appear at major festivals including Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and their own Sun, Sand & Soul event in Florida.
With a career that includes a GRAMMY-winning debut (Revelator), multiple Blues Music Awards for Band of the Year, sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks, and recent appearances at the Kennedy Center Honors and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Tedeschi Trucks Band enter Future Soul with plenty to live up to. If “I Got You” is any indication, they’re doing it by trusting the song first.
