Beau Fleuve Music & Arts returns to the Buffalo AKG on Friday, Feb. 6 for M&T First Fridays with “LOVE WITHIN,” a free event featuring live music performances, spoken word poetry, film screenings and interactive art experiences. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the museum located at 1285 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.

The event, which has drawn large audiences for the past two years, offers a fully curated journey throughout the AKG where art, culture and creativity converge. The evening centers around the theme of love and connection, with programming spread across multiple spaces within the museum.
Kentucky-born singer-songwriter Makenzie headlines the evening with a performance in the Lipsey Auditorium, accompanied by Rod Bonner. The 28-year-old vocalist blends R&B with pop, progressive soul, alternative rock and funk, showcasing raw yet refined vocal abilities. The Nicholas brothers band The Brothers Band performs jazz, soulful melodies and R&B hits in the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Town Square, while SARANAIDE brings rhythmic energy to the Sculpture Terrace of the Gundlach building.
Spoken word performances feature poets Brandon Williamson, Deia Elwadi, Dallas Taylor and Ashely M. Hardy in the Gundlach building’s Sculpture Terrace. The Lipsey Auditorium will also host a screening of the classic film Brown Sugar.
Interactive art experiences include the AKG’s Drop-In Art Studio, where guests can create art and contribute to a collaborative community piece. A curated “LOVE WITHIN” playlist guides attendees through an emotional and artistic journey throughout the evening.
Lindsey L. Taylor, Founder and Chairman of Beau Fleuve, emphasized the organization’s mission to break down financial barriers and create accessible cultural experiences. The event is designed to inspire connection, creativity and celebration through art, music and culture.
The event is free and open to the public as part of M&T First Fridays at the Buffalo AKG.
