Broadway Bound Kids presents its fourth annual Broadway Bound Benefit Concert, Empower State of Mind, on Sunday, Feb. 2 at City Winery NYC’s mainstage in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood.
The evening will honor The PATH Fund and its founders Donnie Kehr and Cori Gardner with the Broadway Bound Legacy Award while raising funds for free performing arts education programs across New York City. The concert will celebrate the city’s influence on theater with performances from iconic shows including Hell’s Kitchen, West Side Story and In the Heights.
Performances will feature PATH founder Donnie Kehr alongside Broadway guest stars Kate Baldwin (Chicago The Musical), Olivia Donalson (Six), Kelsey Kimmel (Hell’s Kitchen), Storm Lever (Six), Daniel Quadrino (Wicked) and Jacob Keith Watson (Ragtime). Rock performers Ben and Max Ash will perform under the direction of Music Director Robert Frost (Cabaret).
BBK students will share the stage with Broadway stars and BBK teaching artists throughout the night. The benefit celebrates organizations dedicated to supporting arts education and empowering youth in the arts. The organization connects emerging artists with industry leaders while providing guidance, resources and opportunities for the next generation.
Funds raised at the annual benefit support Broadway Bound Kids’ free performing arts education programs, including new initiatives like Community Theater Ensembles, the BBK Bridge to Higher Education and free summer workshops.
Established in 2004, Broadway Bound Kids provides performing arts education to Pre-K through 12th-grade students through in-school residencies, community-based workshops, summer programs, master classes with Broadway professionals, full-scale musical productions and trips to Broadway shows. The nonprofit’s teaching methods focus on enhancing technical skills, social-emotional learning, confidence, connection, mindfulness and creativity while working to break down societal and financial barriers to the arts for youth, their families and communities.
