Cayuga Chamber Orchestra begins 2026 Chamber Music Series with Martinů and Mozart

The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, based in Ithaca, has been performing live classical music since 1976 and has continued to commit themselves to bringing music to the community. This is evident in their continuation of the Chamber Music Series for the 2026 season, featuring Martinů and Mozart.

Martinů and Mozart

The program details include William Grant Still’s Incantation and Dance, Martinů’s Three Madrigals for Violin and Viola, Sibelius’ Duo for Violin and Viola in C Major, and Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds. Each of these pieces provides four varied acoustic atmospheres, creating an interchange between tradition and innovation.

Musicians include John Lathwell (oboe), Vadim Serebryany (piano), William Knuth (violin), Bryce Bunner (viola), Sarah Chandler (clarinet), Dillon Meacham (bassoon), and Stefan Williams (horn).

The event will take place at the First Unitarian Society of Ithaca, NY, on Sunday, Jan.18, 2026, at 3:00pm. Tickets can be found on the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra website, email info@CCOithaca.org, or by phone 607-273-8981.
