Marky Ramone is best known as being the hard-hitting drummer for legendary punk rock band, The Ramones. Now, 29 years after The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame band retired, Ramone has his own outfit titled Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg. At the end of the day, Ramone has been cited as playing over 1700 shows spanning 15 years with The Ramones and to this day, he’s still going strong.

Most recently, Ramone was on tour out west. The tour that carried him through the summer into September saw him stop at some of rock’s biggest festivals like Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois and Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma. Ramone has some massive plans in place, like a tour of Europe and South America scheduled to start at the end of January.
Before his international gigs, fans have a chance to see Ramone in the tri-state area. Fans have three opportunities to see Ramone live in concert during December. On Dec. 4, he’ll be at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, followed by two New York shows. On Dec. 5, Ramone has a hometown show in New York City at The Gramercy Theater, followed by a show upstate at The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock.
Before hitting the road, Ramone sat down with NYS Music’s Michael Singer to discuss his new band, The Ramones and life on the road.
