Jack Johnson is bringing his SURFILMUSIC Tour to 43 outdoor venues across North America next year, including 3 locations in New York State.

With this tour, Johnson will be making his first return to the road since 2022, this time celebrating his upcoming documentary film SURFILMUSIC and honoring his 20+ year catalogue of folk and surf-rock staples. He’ll be bringing his tour to some of the most beautiful outdoor venues in the US, with his 3 New York dates being at Saratoga’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 24, Wantagh’s Northwell at Jones Beach Theater on June 28, and Canandaigua’s CMAC on July 1.
SURFILMUSIC is a documentary covering Jack Johnson’s amazing life story and career trajectory, from surfer to non-fiction filmmaker to acclaimed musician. The film will go into the process behind Johnson’s two beloved surf films, 1999’s Thicker Than Water and 2000’s The September Sessions, which were responsible for tailoring Johnson’s artistic voice and jumpstarting his music career. The film will honor the lifelong friendships and coastal community that have made Johnson who he is, while featuring many of the surfers from Johnson’s original 2 films and exploring his goals of blending music and environmentalism.
In anticipation of the tour, Johnson has released a new single, “Hold On To The Light” featuring Hermanos Gutiérrez, who will be working alongside Johnson on the film’s soundtrack and performing as an opener on the SURFILMUSIC Tour. Gutiérrez began as an admirer of Johnson’s music and films before joining him in the studio, allowing their mutual admiration to blossom into friendship, and eventually, an entire film soundtrack. The soundtrack has also reunited Johnson with longtime producer Mario Caldato Jr., who co-produced many of Johnson’s albums, such as In Between Dreams and Sleep Through the Static.
Jack Johnson prides himself on being a pioneer in environmentally conscious touring, so in light of this, he is partnering with REVERB, a non-profit inspiring musicians and fans to make environmental change at concerts and beyond. Each stop will highlight Johnson’s commitments to sustainability, community, and action, and the Village Green (a staple at Johnson’s tours) will feature All At Once Non-Profit Partners promoting environmental stewardship, sustainable local food systems, and plastic-free initiatives.
Johnson is very passionate about giving back to the causes he cares about. In partnership with the Johnson ‘Ohana Foundation, all of the net proceeds from Platinum and Premium tickets will be donated directly to non-profits in each respective city. An addition $2 per ticket will help the environment, with $1 going to REVERB’s Climate Project Portfolio and another $1 supporting All At Once Non-Profit Partners.
