Brooklyn-born Jimmy Kimmel will return to his hometown this week with a series of shows filmed live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House.

This week of shows, starting Monday, September 29, marks the seventh time “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has spent a week in Brooklyn and broadcast from BAM.
Guests slated to appear include Stephen Colbert – Kimmel will also appear on the “Late Show” the same evening Colbert heads to Brooklyn, Spike Lee, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Reynolds, Emily Blunt, Josh Johnson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jeremy Allen White.
Musical guests will include Brooklyn artists Geese and Living Colour, Roosevelt, Long Island’s Public Enemy, and Reneé Rapp, who gained fame as Regina George in Mean Girls on Broadway.

Previous guests of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in Brooklyn have included Cardi B, Eminem, Jason Bateman, Wu-Tang Clan, Jon Stewart, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael J. Fox, Alicia Keys, John Krasinski, David Letterman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, Senator Bernie Sanders, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Jay Z, Howard Stern and many more.
The guest lineup for Kimmel’s Brooklyn shows comes after returning to his show on September 23, following a nearly week-long suspension, due to pressure from the current administration in D.C., following Kimmel’s remarks on a podcaster’s murder, which upset many in the ‘maga gang.’ Kimmel went on to say that the current president’s reaction was ‘akin to how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish’ but that he had no intention to make light of the murder of a young man.
In his return, Kimmel was also critical of Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), who was among the first to call for Kimmel’s suspension. Kimmel pointed out that Carr was once a free speech advocate, but changed his mind on the First Amendment right after Kimmel’s controversial broadcast.
Later in the week, Kimmel quipped that the show has to “stay on the move so the FCC can’t get us,” looking ahead to his week in Brooklyn.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs weeknights on ABC at 11:35 PM ET.
