First-Ever WAMM Festival Brings Women’s Music to Troy

The Women Are Making Music (WAMM) Festival is holding its first-ever celebration at The Hangar in Troy on September 14, converging a dynamic medley of powerful harmonies, blazing guitars, and fearless voices.

The inaugural festival emerged from the grassroots WAMM movement, which musician and producer Niki Kaos revitalized in 2023, marking a joyful new chapter in a story of perseverance, artistry, and sisterhood. The festival will bring together an electric lineup of women-driven acts across genres—from rootsy Americana to riotous punk and sultry blues.

The WAMM Festival will host its inaugural edition in Troy.

The festival lineup will include folk band Shannon Tehya & The Troupe, rock band Kitty Rodeo, as well as others like Luminous Crush, The Va Va Voodoos, Gloria Duo, Joanne DelCarpine (Joanne’s Driving the Bus), Amy-Lin Slezak, Erin Powers, and Mark & Jill.

The WAMM Festival will also feature a vibrant marketplace of women-owned businesses showcasing art, handmade goods, and creative merchandise.

Doors will open at 12:45 with pre-sale tickets starting at $25. Day-of-show tickets will be $30.
