The Schoharie County Sunshine Fair is known for its tractor pulls and live music attractions. The county’s primary industry is agriculture and the fair is a celebration of its heritage.

The organizational meeting of the Seneca County Agricultural Society was held in 1841. However, the first recorded meeting was on April 10, 1810, just 15 years after the county was organized.
The first county fair was in Ovid on October 21 and 22 in 1841.
Today the established fair offers events including a rodeo, a demolition derby, crafts, competitions, agriculture and more.

The Steuben County Fair is the oldest continually running fair in the United States. Originated in 1819, there were nine categories for judging with prizes given to exhibitors of cattle, sheep and produce. Horse racing was also an attraction.
The Steuben County Fair has a grand history of agricultural life from our region. It continues to highlight agricultural exhibits, and grandstand events. The fair also offers carnival rides, fair food, and entertainment from local talents.
The Country Fair, Otisville (Orange County)
July 24-27, 2025
The Country Fair in Otisville started off as a one-day flea market event around 1990. It is now a four-day family-friendly event. The fair is hosted by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County and the Otisville Lions Club.
The Country Fair has something for everyone, including live entertainment, 4-H exhibits, animal shows, amusement rides, tractor pulls, food, local vendors, and even life skills demonstrations.

The Trumansburg Fair is a traditional county fair that has been held for over 150 years.
It features attractions including a demolition derby, horse shows and a midway with rides and games, exhibits, food vendors and more.
July 29-August 3, 2025
The Ulster County Fair is a beloved annual event that offers a wide array of family-friendly entertainment, including headline acts, daily performances, midway rides, exhibits, competitions, and more.
There was a smaller fair with agricultural exhibits was held in 1869, but the first official Ulster County Fair took place in 1886.
August 18-24, 2025
The Washington County Fair held its first fair in 1860 to promote agriculture.
The Washington County Fair is an event that features attractions such as livestock shows, 4-H displays, rides, midway games, tractor pulls, and demolition derbies. Unique fair foods, and entertainment are also offered.
August 4-10, 2025
A horse racing competition and display of agricultural products for their area and surrounding towns was first held in 1849. A more formalized fair took place in 1856.
The fair hosts over 100 commercial exhibitors and hundreds of fair exhibitors who compete in various 4-H, agricultural and domestic competitions. It showcases Wayne County’s best craftsmen, animals, vegetables and plants along with a variety of family-friendly entertainment. Midway rides and food and beverage tastings are also offered.
The Wayne County Fair offers a variety of entertainment and activities for the entire family. It continues to be one of the oldest fairs in New York State and its annual attendance averages 32,000 for the event.
August 9-16, 2025
The first Wyoming County Fair took place in 1844. Its purpose was to promote the county’s agricultural products and serve as a gathering for local farmers following the summer harvest.
The fair is held at the Pike Fairgrounds and includes many daily activities. These include exhibits, rides, horse shows, home arts, flowers, farm animals, vendors, great food and much more.
July 8-12, 2025
The first Yates County Fair was held in 1839 and began promoting exhibitions of agricultural and horticultural products.
Today, the Yates County Fair continues to focus on local agriculture and community involvement with agricultural exhibits, 4-H displays, grandstand events and entertainment.
