The Jefferson County Agricultural Society was first organized in 1817. Its first cattle show and fair took place in 1818.but was inspired by an event prior to that which showed the first act of encouragement for agricultural interests and manufacturers in the county.
The Jefferson County Fair, having celebrated its 205th anniversary, is the oldest continuous operating fair in the United States. The fair showcases live music, youth exhibitors, carnival rides, and animal shows.

Founded in 1841, The Agricultural Society of Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties is one of the oldest agricultural societies in the United States.
Beginning in 1842, the Society sponsored its earliest fair, known then as the Queens County Fair, on vacant lots and member’s farms. In 1970, the Fair moved to Old Bethpage Village Restoration and was renamed the Long Island Fair. The Long Island Fair has been a part of Long Island history for 180 years.

The Madison County Fair dates back to 1839 and includes livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, midway rides, demolition derbies, and live music.
A petting zoo, agricultural displays and local craft vendors are also offered.

The Ontario County Fair celebrated its 182nd County Fair. The fair has committed to providing a venue where people can exhibit all kinds of agricultural products. It also educates the public and fosters youth development.
The fair features events like 4-H youth activities and events, youth livestock and animal shows, vendors and Exhibitors Hall. It also highlights live music and food vendors and Midway rides by Playland Amusements. Other free featured attractions include Party Animals Petting Zoo and model train displays.
Fairgoers can learn about Ontario County agriculture by visiting the animal exhibits, rooster crowing contests, dairy shows and livestock challenges.

The fair has been held since 1897 and serves as a major summer event in the area.

The Orleans County 4-H Fair is the biggest 4-H event of the year. It showcases a year’s worth of projects by the county’s 4-H youth. They even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest apple pie made in 1976.

The Otsego County Fair became an entity on January 26th, 1877.
Since its creation, the Otsego County Fair has grown substantially. Over the years it has grown to an average attendance of over 30,000. To this day, the Otsego County Fair continues to offer a number of traditions, including horse racing on opening day. It also features carnival rides, local talent, crafts, agriculture and a working antique village.

The Saratoga County Fair is a tradition that dates back to 1841 featuring a variety of competitions, entertainment, and exhibits.
It attracts approximately 100,000 visitors each year with its offerings including a large amusement midway, various entertainment stages, and a number of exhibits including farm and garden, home and fine arts, and 4-H displays.
