The Dutchess County Fair began in 1842 originally taking place at Washington Hollow to showcase agriculture and domestic arts.
Since 1919, the fairgrounds permanent home has been in Rhinebeck. It has been a Hudson Valley staple providing fun and community connection through its agricultural exhibits, livestock, artisan crafts, midway rides, food, and live entertainment.

The Erie County Agricultural Society is a private, not-for-profit membership corporation, which annually produces the Erie County Fair. The Society is the oldest civic organization in Western New York, established in 1819. The Erie County Fair promotes and showcases the community’s agricultural traditions, talents, diversity and heritage.
Originally, the Hamburg location for the Fair was 12 acres. Over the years, The Fairgrounds have grown to cover 275 acres. Likewise, the Fair has expanded to become a 12-day event each August from its early days as a one-day event in the fall.
August 13-17, 2025
In 1848, the first Essex County-Clinton County Fair took place. Many building and barns, including the Grand Stand and the Agricultural Center have been built since then to create the present grounds.
The Essex County Fair is a five-day agricultural fair. It is known as New York State’s smallest county fair. Highlights include animal shows, harness racing, motor sports, local food and crafts, and a celebration of local heritage.
Fonda Fair (Montgomery County)

The society was organized October 13th 1841, and the first fair was held on the courthouse grounds, November 11th and 13th 1841.
Today, the fair attracts roughly 60,000-70,000 visitors and offers attractions including rides, agricultural exhibits, live entertainment, livestock shows and more.

Gouverneur/St Lawrence County Fair
July 29- August 3, 2025
The village of Canton, being the County Seat, sought and received a charter declaring them the St. Lawrence County Fair in 1851. The first fair in Gouverneur was held in 1859, eight years after Canton held its St. Lawrence County Fair. With that name already taken, the founders decided to call itself the Gouverneur Agricultural and Mechanical Society. Gouverneur Fair is a shortened version of its official name.
After a particularly hard year in 1933, they decided to approach the Gouverneur Fair about a possible merger. In 1934, a deal was made and the St. Lawrence County Fair would merge with the Gouverneur Agricultural & Mechanical Society to combine their fairs at the Gouverneur location.
The annual event now offers goat and cow showings, agricultural displays, and live performances by local bands.
Grahamsville Little World’s Fair

The Grahamsville Little World’s Fair is the longest running independent fair in New York offering three days of old-fashioned family fun!
2025 marks the 145th annual fair which will feature agricultural and livestock exhibits and contests, daily entertainment including live music and demonstrations, rides for all ages, an array of great food, games, and vendors.
July 24-27, 2025
The Greene County Youth Fair has been held annually since 1954 and celebrated its 71st anniversary this year. Over the years, thousands of young people have participated in the fair, showcasing over 2,000 exhibits annually during its peak.
The Greene County Youth Fair has become a symbol of community spirit and youth achievement. Each year, it attracts over 20,000 visitors and it remains the last fair in New York State to offer free admission and entertainment.
With agricultural beginnings, the fair has grown into a four-day event with rides, exhibits and family friendly activities and entertainment.
July 15-19, 2025
The Hemlock “Little World’s” Fair has been taking place since 1857 and takes pride in sharing its agricultural heritage and showcasing the best Livingston County has to offer.
The fair’s pay-one-price admission includes parking, rides, free shows, bands and Grandstand events. A KidZone provides fun for children with games and activities. There is something for everyone at the Hemlock Fair with events, exhibits, and entertainment.
August 12-17, 2025
The Herkimer Fair began in 1841 as a traveling fair. Now a permanent fixture, the fair offers a variety of attractions including the Gillette Shows for rides and a permanent exhibit hall in addition to livestock shows and judging.
The Fair presently sits on 26 acres with 10 permanent buildings.
