Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country has released their vintage country-inspired new track “Better Deal Blues,” from their highly anticipated forthcoming album Horizons.

With a classic pedal steel riff kicking it off, “Better Deal Blues” follows the aftermath of a one-sided relationship. Donato’s protagonist finally realizes that he had allowed himself to be emotionally shortchanged as he seeks to regain his pride and dignity.
“When I had the right heart in the wrong place, she gave me the best directions, on where to go to find the blues. I hope Merle Haggard would be proud of this song.”
– Donato
Horizons finds the group injecting a bolt of lightning into a wealth of American music with their signature brand of cosmic country and fearless musical explorations. The album is steeped in a foundation of country, rock, bluegrass, funk, and so much more. All of the songs were performed live numerous times before entering the studio, which allowed the band to gain a greater vision of the possibilities for recording, and even more importantly, while performing live. Horizons was co-produced by Vance Powell (White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Stapleton, Trey Anastasio).

Led by Donato’s vocals and virtuosic guitar playing, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country features Nathan “Sugar Legg” Aronowitz (keyboards/vocals), Will “Mustang” McGee (bass/vocals), and William “Bronco” Clark (drums & percussion).
Horizons is the second LP from Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, containing all original material. The 15-track collection is the follow-up to 2023’s Reflector, which received critical acclaim from a wide range of press. To listen to Horizons and learn more about Daniel Donato, click here.
