Woodstock 1969: The Setlists

56 years ago, Woodstock brought together more than 400,000 faithful music-loving hippies from all walks of life, for three days of peace and music. Some of the most notable moments of the festival are easily remembered – Joe Cocker belting out “With a Little Help From My Friends;” The Who performance of (most of) Tommy at 5 in the morning; Janis Joplin singing “Piece of My Heart;” Richie Havens opening the festival up with a tone-setting performance capped by “Freedom” – mostly through radio play, or for some, inclusion in the Time Life Music Collection.

There were 33 total performances at Woodstock, some surprising in a good way (Joan Baez closed out Night 1) and some in an odd way (the Grateful Dead’s performance was among their worst). Here, we have compiled all setlists for each artist, as well some of their performance at Woodstock, all in chronological order, from Havens to Hendrix.
